In 2020, the University of Birmingham will be hosting the UK Cognitive Linguistics Conference, with Adele Goldberg (Princeton University), Caroline Rowland (MPI Nijmegen), Gabriella Vigliocco (University College London), and Mark Dingemanse (Radboud University) as plenary speakers. The UKCLC is an interdisciplinary conference on language and cognition with a leaning towards cognitive linguistics and functional/usage-based approaches. Submissions from all areas of linguistics are accepted, including pre-conference workshop submissions. We currently have pre-conference workshops on the topics of iconicity, Bayesian stats, data visualization, and language evolution planned. The call for papers is open till December 30, with a 500 word abstract.
