Discussions have been going on for some time about forming a Swedish Cognitive
Linguistics Association affiliated with ICLA. An invitation was posted on the cogling list to
find out the potential number of scholars interested in membership. In that invitation,
a conference was preliminarily announced with the purpose of presenting papers and of
officially forming SweCLA, electing its board and formulating its constitution.
Our invitation was received favourably. We now have a list of about forty prospective
members and have decided to arrange an International Conference and Constituting Meeting
of the Swedish Cognitive Linguistics Association (SweCLA).
